Henne Mølle Å Restaurant

You have an option of staying at the hotel, or just go here and eat a fantastic meal after a visit to the breathtaking Henne beach.

The restaurant and hotel was designed by Poul Henningsen and he designed a white chair for the restaurant to give it a nice summery mood. And you find his PH lamps there too of course!

But when the restaurant opened in 1936 there where no electricity at the hotel so in these days the guests brought the candles from their rooms to use in the big wheel that hanged in the ceiling of the restaurant. It is still there, but all the light today comes from PH lamps.THE FOOD

The restaurant is concentrating on seafood and other regional specialities.

I went for seafood and I didn’t go disappointed! The plaice pictured above was fantastic. Served with parsley potatoes and lingonberry and paired with a very nice Chablis from Monts & Vallées.

Fresh oysters with lemon and shallots. What can go wrong?

Fried scallops with a crudités of pea and white China Radishes, vinaigrette on apple vinegar and leek dust.

The restaurant is also suitable for families as they have kid friendly food too, and there is area above in the restaurant where the children can enjoy themselves after the meal while the grown ups finish off their meal.

The restaurant strive towards serving only ecological food, and today 97 % is ecological at the restaurant! All the meat is produced by farmers that really are into animal welfare.

So is it expensive to eat here? No, it is really reasonable prices. The plaice was 229 Dkr and 6 oysters are 180 Dkr! The desserts are 85 to 95 Dkr.
