
It was rebuilt in 1815 by Emperor Jiaqing by Qing Dynasty. During the Cultural Revolution the monastery was almost destroyed, but the state announced it as one of the places to be kept and it was restored in 1990. In 1996 it was certified as a key national preservation of cultural relics, and today there is a Buddhist College located in the monastery.
