Pepèn in Parma

Pepen is probably the most famous little place in Parma. This is were you go to have the most delicious lunch, or why not just stop for a quick drink and a sandwich in this buzzing little sandwich shop. I went for a Carciofa, which is a really tasty and creamy pie with Parmigiano Reggiano (of course), artichoke hearts, spinach and ricotta. But people often go here for their famous Pesto Di Cavallo sandwich. Do you dare to eat horsemeat? Because that’s what it is, a horse tartare sandwich that is famous all over Italy! People are travelling from all over the world to eat it here. I had a bite, and it tasted like a great tartare sandwich. The place itself is worth a visit, it has been here since 1961. I would recommend you to order inside and then hang out on the street when you eat. Look at the people, and enjoy food and life!
