Easy to make, and it is full of vitamins.
2 kg (4 lb) redcurrants
6 dl (21 oz) caster (superfine) sugar
4 dl water (13,5 oz)
1 Vanilla pod
My way to make a Limonana (Middle Eastern Frozen Mint Lemonade, or Dubai Lemonade) And there is probably plenty of other names to it! Anyway, after nearly moving to Dubai plenty of times and several long visits. I’m hooked on this myntha lemon drink. And I have been for like 20 years.. (OMG)
Everytime I’m in Dubai I drink so much Limonana (Middle Eastern Frozen Mint Lemonade). And in Sweden my garden is full of myntha. (When it’s warm) So with the sun finally looking at us again, I’m gonna make some myntha lemon drink today.
You just add a big bunch of rinsed myntha leafs into a mixer. Mix with some sugar and water.
After that, you squeeze 3-4 lemons into it. Add more water.
And then pour it into a glass filled with ice.
Tip, you can either strain it to get rid of the leafs, or just use a jug with a strainer in the lid.
1 kg of trimmed washed rhubarbs, that you chop into smaller pieces.
That you boil until soft ,then drain them over a bowl or a jug with a piece of muslin, or a clean tea towel. It takes around 1-2 hours. Squeeze out everything!
Add 2-3 dl white granulated sugar and boil until the sugar has dissolved. Add some water , and fill up into a nice clean bottle.
You can add some lemon or ginger if you want;)
