Kommandobroen by Grantland

Another magic place at the Danish West Coast by Michael Grantland, one of Denmark’s top chefs. He started the restaurant in 2016 with his fiancé Louise just by the lively harbour in Hvide Sande. Michael has worked at several top restaurants in Denmark and Norway. He has also been competing and won both gold, silver and bronze in several competitions, for example gold and silver in Erfurt 2011/2012!The restaurant could be snobbish as he is a top chef, but it is not. It has this relaxed vibe, and still you get some knock out food! The perfect combo! We had some magic seafood and vegetables here. Like at the picture, local brill served with wild garlic mayo, red wine gravy, wild verbena leaves and wild garlic buds from Michaels garden.

The restaurant works both for families as groups of people. They are open for lunch and dinner. And a magic rhubarb dessert to end our meal! This was a really great dessert, baked rhubarb with lime and tarragon and vanilla ice cream topped with wood sorrel. It’s not a meal without dessert..

Back to his roots in Hvide Sande, serving fantastic locally produced food and living his dream. He has also started ”Lille K Kommandobroen” in Hvide Sande together with his fiance Louise. I didn’t try it, but it sounds good! Lille K is a tapas restaurant with the option of take away and a shop with cheese, wine, chocolate and some other goodies.
