I was visiting San Sebastián Gastronomika at the Kursaal conference center for the first time a few weeks ago.
It was the most interesting food conference I ever been too, and as an extra bonus the conference is situated just by the sea in beautiful San Sebastian! The amount of top chefs involved was amazing, and they were all very involved with sharing their expertise during their speeches, and while cooking up on stage. I don’t think I ever had this much information and impressions at the same time! I am forever grateful that I was invited to this! As well as a conference there were a market with stalls that were exhibiting their specialities in the food and wine sector.
This year they celebrated the anniversary of Elkano and his circumnavigation around the world 500 years ago. They have been bringing together all the different flavours and cuisine that Elkano experienced during his long trip. So during these days there have been some Spanish top chefs like Joan Roca, Dani Garcia, Elena Arzak to name some. But there were also top chefs like Chef Sau from Philippines, Najat Kaanache from Morocco and Leonor Espinosa from Colombia. I will within the next few weeks write about some of all these chefs, and even give you some recipes that they shared
