At Långängen

I live on an island just outside Stockholm, Lidingö. And one of my favourite spots are this old house called Långängen where they serve a nice brunch and the nicest cakes. The building itself is from 1770. But the first house that was built there were around 1300’s.

For two weeks now has my son been having an internship there, and yesterday I finally had time to visit.

Foraging is searching for wild food resources. You should never take more than 20% of what you find, never pull up the roots, and make sure you know what you are picking!!

Green and Safe

A lot to choose from. I picked a plate with 3 different salads. So you can choose from around 10 different salads, either a big plate or 3 different. And a home made lemonade, wich is really good here. We were lucky to get some of the few seats outside. Where you can look at everything going on at Dong Ping Lu.

Wagas

E3F5E06D-DCFB-42BC-B1C7-5F592CB3C0F3With the flavours of mango, pomelo, cilantro, peanuts and chicken and a tangy-spicy sauce to go with it. You have your perfect lunch! A light still very tasty lunch. Loved it! Even tried it an evening, perfect!!

Australian Jackie Yun and her Danish business partner John Christensen started Wagas just when we moved to Shanghai in 2002. They had the perfect timing. Because believe it or not, there weren’t many western places around at that time. I had lunch there many times, especially with Claire, one of my English best friends who just lived around the corner from the first place.
