In the middle of the city centre you find the Food Market, Central Market San Blas. It is open from 7.30 am until 8. But is closed during the siesta 14-16.30. I always try to visit the markets in every country I go to, I’m more interested in that than other things. This was a … Läs mer

Last night I went to listen to a live pod with Tove and Daniella. They had invited Marcus Jernmark from Frantzen, Joakim Almqvist from Punk Royale and Anders Husa.
I spent last night eating an excellent 3 course dinner with some fab cocktails by Michael Hajiyianni from Ruby’s in Copenhagen, Denmark.
It’s situated at Södermalm in Stockholm. The place looks very Asian with a lot of furniture from India, buddhas etc.. It’s has a very relaxed vibe, and is normally packed in the weekends.

Real Indian food in Stockholm?!?
Yes, Shanti has some locations. But my favourite is Shanti Classic. The chef is great, and so is the food. When you are eating Indian food, then you should order some different dishes to share. (According to the Indian way, and mine;)
A nice cantina close to our hotel by Miami Airport. And it’s a tradition going here for some really good Mexican food our last night in Florida. After my shopping;)

It’s a must every Christmas! This is a simple recipe for a homemade gingerbread dough. It only takes 10 minutes to make it!
About 200 small gingerbread figures
4 dl caster sugar
2 dl light syrup
2 dl of water
250 g butter
2 tablespoons of cinnamon
1 tablespoon of milled cardamom
1 tablespoon of milled cloves
1 tablespoon of milled gingerpowder
1 tablespoon bicarbonate
15 dl of wheat flour
How to make icing:
4 dl icing sugar
1 egg white
2 tablespoons vinegar, or squeezed lemon
Add coloring if you want!
1, Pour sugar, syrup and water into a saucepan. Boil it all and then remove it from the heat.
2, Divide the butter and put it in a bowl together with the spices. Pour the hot sugar mixture and stir until the butter melts. Allow to cool to room temperature.
3, Mix flour with bicarbonate and stir it into the batter, which becomes quite loose (it swells). Work the dough with a wood or plastic fork. Leave the dough in the fridge, covered or put in a plastic bag, 1-2 days before baking it out.
4, Bake the gingerbread cookies: Set the oven to 200 C. Use a little bit at a time – it’s always easiest. Powder the baking table with some flour and the rolling pin. Cut out the gingerbread figures with a gingerbread cutter and place on a baking tray with some baking paper at it.
5, Put the baking tray into the oven at 200 C, and bake the gingerbread for 4-6 minutes. Be careful – gingerbread burns easily!!!
Add icing if you like!
Enjoy!
Make sure the gingerbread dough is cold when you start to roll it, then it’s much easier to make gingerbread cookies. And the thinner you roll the gingerbread cookies, the crispier they get!

Yesterday I went to one of the most beautiful openings ever! The interior was smashing, and Alexander Erwik, the one that had planed the opening had done a grand job. And everywhere I looked there was something to take a picture off!

Me and Helene ❤️. Fab to have a night with a friend!
Neil Sharp from Innis & Gunn, (one of the guys behind one of Scotland’s most successful international craft brewers) came to Sweden with a wish for going out on a rib. So that is what happened, we started off with some nice beer at No 53 in Gamla Stan.

And then we all geared up in these pretty clothes;)
Their master brewer Richard Bengtsson has the last years been travelling around with some of Sweden’s best chefs. During his trips he’s been taking inspiration for different beers. And from each trip they have released two different beers.
I meet Magnus Pettersson’s mother Monica in Stockholm the other week, and promised her to try and visit Magnus restaurant Selma in Copenhagen. The restaurant is recommended by Bib Gourmand / Michelin!

There is a market in Copenhagen that is not like other markets. It’s a bit better, cosier, more luxurious.. Well, I like it. Except the thing that you shouldn’t aim for having lunch there in the weekends. Because it’s packed!
It doesn’t look much from the outside, but there are two buildings and there is a flower market in between them!
Yesterday I had the pleasure of having Anders Isaksson cooking for me and some others. And as the talented chef he is, he came up with a bunch of good recipes to be paired with O.P. Anderson.
Tried out the fab champagne Palmer Blanc de Noirs yesterday with food. I wonder why people aren’t drinking champagne when they have a nice meal. I have always liked it, and with the food we were served yesterday it worked our perfectly!
